Hit the Road Dude Original Video Source
Last updated:
The original Hit the Road Dude clip comes from a longer video posted by the creator Bird28thegr8, uploaded on YouTube as "LOCK EM UP!! (Original Clip That Broke The Internet)". The famous eleven seconds sit near the start of that upload.
What happens in the original
A man in a white pickup truck drives up to people fishing in a pond on his land. One of them says he thought it was state property. The driver repeats "State?", tells them it is private property and to hit the road. The full upload continues with more of the exchange, including the "lock em up" line that also became a meme.

Best results: one person or one pet, face clearly visible and facing the camera, even light. Avoid group photos, sunglasses and heavy filters. People keep the original voice; pets get an AI voice saying the same lines.

How to spot the original
The original is a horizontal phone video of a real older man. Versions with cats, dogs, cartoons or other people in the truck are AI remakes, and many reposts crop it to vertical for TikTok.
